New Hunt for Old Happiness
The elite of the Habsburg Monarchy gathered at the official opening of this hunters’ palace, owned by Armenian merchant Lukač Lazar, on August 30, 1820. Later, monarchs came here to hunt and enjoy parties, thus the name Carska Bara (Imperial Swamp). Prince Rudolf, Crown Prince Franz Ferdinand and Yugoslav king Aleksandar Karađorđević used to come here. This is where Franz List held his first concert, at the age of nine. Today, the palace regained its old attractiveness, while Carska Bara has never lost it

There used to be a legend of great love, interrupted by World War One. A young heart was broken. The small town, like always, first grieved and then forgot. Then one day, Desanka Maksimović, touched by that story, wrote her famous poem. And everything came back, the interesting custom was restored. Now, this beautiful event takes place every year, on St. Valentine’s Day. Clusters of padlocks will be used to make a unique sculpture, a monument to undying love

Sava Vladislavić Returned Home
Many threads intertwined here happily in a way that is exciting and festive. With Sava, in Savina, on St. Sava Day. And on a little square in Topla, below the church, on that day a monument was unveiled to another great Sava – Sava Vladislavić. Made of bronze, on white granite, work of sculptor Đorđe Lazić, the same as the one already erected in Gacko, Sremski Karlovci and St. Petersburg. It was the occasion for us to come again to this beautiful and important town in Herzegovina

ARCHAEOLOGISTS FOUND NEW EVIDENCE ON RUDNIK
Prehistoric Metallurgy In the Balkans
It was believed for a long time that the most advanced part of the world, where first metal was produced, was Asia Minor. Discoveries on Rudna Glava near Majdanpek, Belovode near Petrovac and Pločnik near Prokuplje, however, finally proved that there was highly developed copper industry in the territory of modern Serbia, 5,000 BC. Discoveries on Rudnik are continuation of this thread, showing that this was not only one center, but knowledge of metallurgy of the entire community of that time

SERBIAN ARCHAEOLOGY IN 150 STORIES: COMPLEX OF TRAJAN’S BRIDGE NEAR MODERN KLADOVO
Great Architectural Achievement
It was built within the preparations for conquering Dacia, in only two years, which is amazing even from the perspective of modern technology. Built on twenty pillars, it was 1,100 meters long, and about 45 meters high. It comprised a single unit with two fortifications, Pontes on the right and Drobet on the left bank. Emperor Trajan was very proud of this building, and the image of the bridge found its way to coins and on the famous Trajan’s column in Rome. It will forever remain a mystery whether the emperor’s heir Hadrian really had to destroy this monumental and famous building
